I know a girl that owns a van. She lives pretty far out of the city so she parks the van close to clubs, goes out for the night partying then takes guys back to the van...
It's bike related, i thought no problem to being posted here on PB universed. Regardless of van commercial or not it's great to see a cute girl shredding some trails.
;Funny it says VW Comercial Vehicles and all I see is a Transporter... I wish we could get the diesel 4wd Transporters here in the US, they even have some in Germany that have portal AXLES they're aftermarket conversions but man they're sure sweet as aye. Oh yeah, that girl's ok looking... meh, I like dark-haired women, blondes are for posers hahahahaha
Um.... No, that's just a Transporter, it looks like a basic "mini-van" kid hauler version, but I can't see inside. put it this way, where I'm from that's def. not a "comercial vehicle" it's a soccer-mom mobile.
I think it's a difference of where were from aye. Here in the States that's def. not gonna be considered a Comercial vehicle. Has more to do with the GVWR and drivetrain then the configuration. Still a sweet toy hauler.
cross country????...cough bullshat cough..all mountain maybe...she doesn't break a sweat, gets shuttled to the top..oh ya full decent with the only climb she jumps off to carry the santa snooze.......lame-o....but....excellent cinamagraphy!...I loved the one rear tire in the air when he came in too hot......is that vw's new 4x capabilities?? better look out mud puddles!!
I give it 1 big chainring outta 3....for xc you should have to pedal...alot!!!
an all you west coast ladies; I'm sure with all the videographers out here, ya'll could make a real killer woman cross country vid to show the boys -and Europe- what hard work really is!!!
Beat me to it... I find it funny that a guy from the UK is talking about mountains at all Europe has the Alps...that's it. Beautiful, big mountains, but Between the West Coast of Canada (and the NW US) up to Alaska we've got alot more and bigger ones to boot...
Hell I live in the valley underneath an 11240ft. mountain... May seem small by comp. to 19000 but it's bigger then anything in the UK by miles. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of UK and their country, Scotland (where all my family's from) is flat out amazing as is like Keswick/Lake district and Whales...Driving/hiking over Hardknot's Pass made me SO WISH I'd brought my bike last time I was there. it's amazing, but it's not real big for mountains, that's all.
it's more a VW ad than anything else, it worked though. I was looking into purchasing that exact model for my business recently, might jus happen now but this is pinkbike, not youtube, even production value, Santa Cruz and a blonde chick, can't help preventing it from looking like VW is just punting their van
funny story .....so this was pretty boring from the start, i was debating if i should even finish, my wife who was sitting by me on the couch asked me what part of twilight i watching..........uuuuhhhh....... im not watching twilight....... that song on the video your watching is from the twilight sound track........debate over video stopped and here i am telling you all about it lol
The 'riding out to an epic waterfall to pose in front of it' storyline is less impressive for anyone who knows that waterfall, and also knows that it's acessable by road, and that she's standing about 15 feet from the carpark with café and toilet facilities. So the message is "this van can drive on roads, and is excellent for menacingly stalking pretty blondes"?
What about the first few scenes on top of the Stiperstones .. where you're not even aloud to drive to, and most people couldn't even get there vehicles up there in the first place .. just because you know one area where we spent barely an hour there out of the whole of the filming you think it's the main feature? ... Think you've very much missed the point!
so that random red vw van is following her and poluting the eviorment so she just doesnt need to pedal back, keeping in mind the headline says "cross country", it might be me, but i do not get it.......
You don't have to get it, but the whole thing is just a fun chase, showing the bike can actually go places where the Van can't etc! The Van was never used as an uplift, there was even an uphill riding bit in the edit, so not sure where you get that idea from .. It's just a fun video made with no financial help, I Love riding bikes and Liam Loves filming .. simples! Hope you actually like it when you just sit back and apreciate the finer things in life
Let's see....pretty girl riding a carbon full suspension over terrain 99.9% of pinkbike users won't ever get to see outside of videos/photos + a van that 98% of them couldn't afford = a whole lot of whining, bitching and moaning from the peanut gallery.
i really wanted to like it more than i did. the whole cute girl mountain biker thing with the artsy filming was super cool. but the VW and emo music kept throwing me off and i had to keep myself from exiting the vid half way through. maybe she could have tossed back a few beers and rode in a wife beater to up the appeal.
Great Video, very good driving style!, It's a very advanced cross country, it look like a enduro, but need remember that cars not bifits to nature trails (nature is beautiful for her clean air)
I thought this video was great... A much cooler commercial then normal...
The flower child riding the bike reminds me of the flower child from the 60s. The hippies.. This girl and the feel of the video are very relevant to that time...
I liked the play and relationship between VW and Santacruz... made for a unison...
Most of all, I loved watching the bike n girl go down the trail...nothing like a trail in the woods...
Loved the music..
Whats interesting tho, is the extra takes at the end... it says that today we need to know both sides of the story to service.. first the fantasy..next that it is a fantasy....
I noticed the 5 10s. They looked good on her..@###
Traharn and Liam did this project for VW in the UK and asked if we thought the readership would like it - I think it's been well received and as for single - that's something we're all wondering too!
I can't believe that a car company had the nerve to support a cyclist and look to promote themselves in exchange. We should just rely on the bike industry to support riders. I'm sure that will help to grow the industry. I thought that the video was well done
I have no problem with cross advertising. All support is welcome. The car company bike coops seemed to work out well in the 2000's, I just wish that this particular wasn't so damned boring. Reminds me of the DH bike videos of the late 90's where everybody was just doing wheelies on 4 inch travel bikes and screwing down fire roads , then funny scenes of guys going OTB when hitting a water bar.....ridiculous!!
Yup, screw big, non bike companies that want to use mountain bikers for adds and put more money into the sport. It"ll clearly be bad for the sport, just look at what Redbull and Monster have done to the sport.
agreed. all I know is there's a girl riding, a red van, and some emotional moments that didn't seem to be caused by anything in particular. in all honesty, it made me want to ride my bike so, can't be all bad.
